Volunteers play an important role in the mission of the Disability Network/Wayne County-Detroit (DN/WC-D). They enable DN/WC-D further its outreach and expand its capacity to provide information and referral, peer support, Advocacy, Independent Living Skills Development and Nursing Home Transition/Prevention services for people with disabilities.
Many benefits of volunteering at DN/WC-D are intangible; gaining knowledge about Independent Living and the needs of people with disabilities, learning new skills, and meeting other people with similar interests. Additional benefits include:
